Many anti-virus software products require purchase or subscriptions to use. Popular brands include BitDefender, Norton, Avast, and McAfee. It also works proactively by scanning email attachments and downloads before you open them. Upon finding a virus or malware, an anti-virus program tries to remove or quarantine the bad files. They refer to the same thing: software that scans your device for viruses and other malicious software. You may know anti-virus software by others names, like anti-malware or anti-spyware. If you want to preserve your privacy online and also stay safe, you need to use both VPN and an anti-virus program.
VPN is an excellent tool for maintaining your privacy online, but it doesn’t protect your computer from malware and viruses. However, VPN is not all you need to ensure a safe browsing experience.
